On the evening of October 22, 2009, as cold autumn winds blew down Woodward Avenue, members of MOSES congregations gathered at the First United Methodist Church for an informational meeting. We came together to discuss important challenges facing Detroiters, including healthcare, immigration reform, access to healthy foods, and the need for better public transit. As our brothers and sisters shared stories of how these issues have affected them personally, MOSES organizers informed us how to get involved in “Rapid Response” efforts to take action. Read on to learn what we discussed at the meeting, and what you can do to help. If you want to live in a healthy community, then ACT ON IT!

Town Hall Meeting with John Conyers was informative

Congressman John Conyers hosted a Town Hall meeting on Sunday, March 15, at Barth Hall (St. Paul's Cathedral, Woodward at Warren) that had a crowded room cheering for him!
